Signing In & Security

Every neoo account is protected by two factors. You can sign in in two ways:

  • With a passkey — confirm with your fingerprint, face or screen lock. Nothing to type, and it cannot be phished. This is the fastest and safest way.
  • With your password and authenticator code — your password plus the 6-digit code from your authenticator app.

Sign in with a passkey

  1. On the sign-in page, click Sign in with a passkey — or click into the Email field and pick your passkey from the suggestions your browser shows.
  2. Confirm with your fingerprint, face or screen lock (Touch ID, Face ID, Windows Hello or your phone’s screen lock).

That’s it: no password and no authenticator code. If you already typed your password and are asked for the code, you can choose Use your passkey instead.

Your passkey is not on this computer? Your browser can also offer to use a passkey from your phone: it shows a QR code, you scan it with your phone and confirm there.

If you don’t see Sign in with a passkey, your browser cannot use passkeys for this address. Sign in with your password and authenticator code as usual — or use a current version of Safari, Chrome or Edge.

Create a passkey

Right after signing in. When you sign in with your password on a computer or phone with fingerprint, face or screen lock, neoo offers Sign in faster with a passkey. Click Create a passkey and confirm — done. Not now skips it; neoo asks again later.

At any time. Open My Profile → Passkeys and click Create a passkey (or Add a passkey if you already have one). Your browser asks you to confirm and where to save the passkey.

Where the passkey is saved decides where you can use it:

Saved in Available on
iCloud Keychain (Apple Passwords) Your Mac, iPhone and iPad with the same Apple account
Google Password Manager Chrome and Android devices signed in to the same Google account
A password manager (1Password, Bitwarden, …) Every device where you use that password manager
Windows Hello or a security key This device (or this key) only

You can create several passkeys, for example one per computer or one in each password manager you use.

Manage your passkeys

My Profile → Passkeys lists every passkey on your account:

  • the name (click the pencil to Rename it),
  • Synced if it is available on your other devices, or This device only,
  • when it was added and last used.

Remove deletes a passkey from your account: it can no longer be used to sign in. Your password and authenticator app keep working. If the passkey is still listed in your password manager afterwards, you can delete it there too.

Confirm your identity

Adding or removing a passkey and changing your password are protected by an extra check. If you signed in more than 15 minutes ago, neoo asks you to Confirm your identity — with your passkey (one touch), or with your password and the code from your authenticator app. This way nobody can change how you sign in from a device you left unattended.

Change your password

Open My Profile → Password → Change password and enter the new password twice (at least 8 characters). Sign out of all other devices is ticked by default, so every other browser and phone has to sign in again with the new password.

If you reset a forgotten password with Forgot password?, your passkeys are removed as well, for your security — create a new one right after signing in.

Review access after a password change

Signing out your devices does not stop AI connections (AI assistants you connected to a dataset) and API keys — they keep working with their own credentials. So after you change your password, and on your first sign-in after a reset, neoo shows Review access to your account: every AI connection and API key that can still reach your account, with the dataset it uses and when it was last used.

  • Disconnect all — everything in the list is ticked; disconnecting cuts them all off.
  • Disconnect selected — untick the ones you want to keep, then disconnect the rest.
  • Keep all — nothing changes.

A disconnected AI assistant has to be connected again before it can read your data; a deleted API key stops working immediately, so any system using it needs a new key. You can also disconnect AI assistants at any time under My Profile → AI connections.

Signed-in devices

My Profile → Signed-in devices shows every browser and phone that is signed in to your account, when it was last active and whether it signed in with a passkey. Sign out ends one device; Sign out all other devices ends all of them except the one you are using.

Security e-mails

neoo sends you an e-mail when:

  • your account signs in on a device it has not been used on before,
  • a passkey is added to or removed from your account,
  • your password is changed or reset,
  • your authenticator app is reconfigured.

If you did not do it yourself: change your password right away, remove any passkey you don’t recognise and sign out the devices you don’t know. If you can no longer sign in, contact Support.

Lost a device?

  1. Sign in on another device (with a passkey or your password and authenticator code).
  2. Under My Profile → Signed-in devices, sign out the lost device.
  3. Under My Profile → Passkeys, remove the passkey that was only on that device.

If you can’t sign in at all anymore, contact Support.

In the neoo app

In the neoo mobile app you sign in with your password and authenticator code once — after that the app keeps you signed in. Passkeys are created and used in the web browser (on your computer or your phone’s browser).
