Favorites
Every user can pin menu pages to a Favorites section at the top of the sidebar, above Cockpit. The section only appears once you have pinned something, and the pins are yours alone: they are stored per user and per dataset, so your list in one dataset does not change what you see in another, and a colleague’s menu is not affected.
Pinning a page
Move the mouse over any page in the menu and a small star appears at the end of the row. Click it and the page is added to Favorites; click the filled star again — either in the Favorites section or on the original entry — to remove it. Pages you have pinned keep a faint star on their menu entry so you can see at a glance what is already in the list.
The same star sits at the right of every page in the Quick Search results, so you can pin a page without leaving the search. On a phone or tablet the star is always visible on menu rows and search results, since there is no mouse to hover with.
Up to twelve pages can be pinned. New pins go to the end of the list; to change the order, drag a favorite up or down in the section (on a phone or tablet, press and hold the row for a moment, then drag). The new order is saved straight away.
Favorites in the quick search
Open the quick search (Ctrl+K, ⌘K on a Mac) without typing anything and your favorites are the first group shown, above the recently visited pages and transactions. A pinned page is marked with a filled star in every result list.
Permissions
You can only pin pages you can open. If a permission is later removed from your role, or an entry is hidden for the dataset, the pin disappears from Favorites on its own the next time the menu loads — there is nothing to tidy up.
